Research Projects and Reports

The Research Office administers transportation research projects on behalf of TDOT through the State Planning and Research Program. This page provides general information about projects including summaries and final report links as they become available.

Active projects cover five topic areas: administration, construction and structures, environment and planning, pavement and maintenance, and traffic and safety. Previous projects are placed into categories based on the division in which they cover at TDOT. Project final reports are included here. Most follow the Research Office's templates or guidelines for reports; exceptions include the United States Geological Survey (USGS), which publishes its research separately. USGS publications are provided once they are approved by their publishers.
