Beginning September 1, 2020, at 6 p.m., TDOT will close lanes of SR 71 (US 441) South for overnight paving activities.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation will halt all lane closure activity on interstates and state highways for the Labor Day holiday travel period. Construction crews will stop all lane closure activity beginning at noon on Friday, September 4 until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8. This will provide maximum roadway capacity for motorists traveling during the Labor Day holiday.

Beginning Sunday, August 30, 2020, traffic exiting I-26 West at Boones Creek Road (Exit 17) will not be allowed to turn left onto the southbound lanes of Boones Creek Road. All ramp traffic will be detoured until Wednesday, September 9.

Beginning on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, contract crews working on the U.S. 27 reconstruction project in downtown Chattanooga will close West 4th Street beneath U.S. 27. Traffic wishing to access West 4th Street from U.S. 27 South will be detoured to West 6th Street. This closure will be in effect until mid-September 2020 and will allow the contractor to complete construction of West 4th Street near U.S. 27.
