Beginning 7:00 p.m. EDT Friday, June 19, 2020, TDOT contract crews will shift traffic on US 27 North to a new alignment between I-24 and the Olgiati Bridge in downtown Chattanooga. This operation is expected to be completed by 7:00 p.m. EDT Saturday, June 20.

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Transportation has been awarded an $11,200,000 federal Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) Grant. The grant money will provide partial funding for the I-40 Smart Fiber Project, which will expand Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) technologies along I-40 between Memphis and Nashville.

TDOT contract crews will begin to shift traffic in June 2020 as part of the I-75 / I-24 Interchange Modification Project. The shift, which will occur in two phases, will be at the I-75 North / I-24 West split and will impact traffic traveling north from Georgia or traffic leaving the Tennessee Welcome Center. Work on the first shift is scheduled for Sunday, June 7, and Monday, June 8, 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. EST, weather permitting.

TDOT contract crews will temporarily close the junction of US 129 (State Route 115 / Alcoa Highway) and Hunt Road in Blount County for bridge demolition and construction.
