New Hope WMA

Directions:  From Big Sandy take Main Street for .1 mile and turn left onto 2nd Street, follow for .1 miles and turn right onto Lick Creek Road, follow for .7 miles and turn left onto New Hope Road, follow for 4 miles and the WMA entrance will be on the left.  This is the only access point for the WMA. Lat: 36.295098°N Long: -88.075723°W

The WMA is open all year long during daylight hours, please note hunting seasons.  License fees may apply.  ATVs are not permitted.

Description: The WMA consists of 88 acres of overgrown fields and has a shoreline that borders Kentucky Lake.  Wildlife viewing opportunities are limited due to the lack of road access. Small game such as rabbits and woodcock are common as well as wintering waterfowl and shorebirds along the lake shoreline. At the South end of the parking lot, an active Bald Eagles nest can be seen in the adjacent pine trees.
