Initial Ring Official
Tennessee Athletic CommissionThis application is for an Initial Ring Official, which would include any of the following:
- Announcer: A person authorized to act as an announcer at unarmed combat contests or amateur events.
- Judge: A person who is responsible for scoring the performances of the combatants in a professional contest.
- Referee: A person who is present in the ring during the professional contest and exercises general supervision.
- Timekeeper: A person who is the official timer of the length of the rounds and the intervals thereof in a professional contest of unarmed combat.
- Ringside Physician: A person licensed to practice medicine in the State of Tennessee.

Licensing Requirements
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Photograph (headshot)
- Photocopy of Driver’s License
Application & Fees
Complete the “Initial Ring Official Application” online at core.tn.gov.
The fees are as follows:
- Announcer: $150
- Judge: $100
- Referee: $125
- Timekeeper: $100
